Professional community of Ukrainian tourist guides with a growing digital qualification ecosystem
The Ukrainian Tourist Guides Association (UTGA) is developing and functioning as an emerging self-regulatory organization in tourism. Until updated tourism legislation is adopted in Ukraine, our qualification ecosystem operates as an internal and voluntary system created by the professional community.
Through digital tools, we help guides working in Ukraine and those temporarily living abroad confirm their qualifications, maintain professional identity, and stay visible to partners, employers, and institutions.
What visitors should know first
UTGA is not only a professional association. We are building a practical framework for guide qualification, adult learning, and digital verification that can support both national development and international recognition.
Why this matters now
Many Ukrainian guides, especially those displaced by war, face challenges in proving their qualifications abroad. Our system helps them demonstrate verified competencies and remain professionally active.
Support resilienceAbout UTGA
A clearer and more internationally readable presentation of who you are and what you do.
The Ukrainian Tourist Guides Association is a professional community of tourist guides working across all regions of Ukraine, including de-occupied territories and displaced communities.
We are developing a structured qualification ecosystem aligned with the European Qualifications Framework (EQF), including:
- Start Competence (EQF 4)
- Base & Specialized Guide (EQF 5)
- Master Guide / Trainer (EQF 6)
Our qualification ecosystem is currently internal and voluntary. It is designed to support guides in practice now, while also preparing a foundation for future national regulation and wider recognition.
We use digital credentials, QR-based verification, and a public registry to make qualifications easier to understand and confirm.
